Hey everyone!
Lately we've been getting some questions about what is and what isn't allowed in the goup, so it was about time we updated our Submission policies a little bit. We added a whole new section under the
General Submission requirements, and there are 3 new rules as of now. In this journal I'll explain a little better what each of them mean, but they shouldn't cause any major changes as the mods have been more or less executing these rules until now as well.
Banned Exceptions:• Recasts (illegal or unauthorized reproductions of original company and artist dolls)
• Commercial photos (e.g. company photos, advertisements, photos that are clearly meant for selling something)
• Pet dolls (animal dolls that have no human charasteristics)
• Recasts (illegal or unauthorized reproductions of original company and artist dolls)If you've followed any doll forums or had any sort of contact with the online doll community lately, you've probably come across the recast debate.
bjd-club is an art community supporting and encouraging original creations and artists' copyrights. For this reason any photos of recast dolls are not allowed into the group and will be declined.
• Commercial photos (e.g. company photos, advertisements, photos that are clearly meant for selling something)We are first and foremost an art sharing group, not a marketplace. Therefore we do not accept photos that are clearly for selling purposes. You may submit photos showcasing the doll/item with the order information in the artist's comments, but please don't do so on the photo itself and/or its title. If you need to sell something there are better places to do it, like the
DoA Marketplace or
Etsy.
The bit about submitting company photos should be obvious, but we've added that into the rules as well just in case; all the photos you submit should be your own, and submitting official company photos (even edited) isn't allowed.
• Pet dolls (animal dolls that have no human charasteristics)Many companies these days produce "pet dolls", resin companions for humanoid BJDs that may or may not be ball jointed. These are not allowed in the group on their own, but will be allowed together with a humanoid type BJD in the same photo. The fundamental difference with "Pet dolls" and "Anthropomorphic dolls" is that Anthro dolls have both animal and human charasteristics, while Pet dolls lack the human part. Anthro dolls with human-like bodies and animal faces, paws and tails may still be submitted into the Anthro folder as always.
We hope you understand the reasons behind these rules; if you have any further questions you may send a private note to the group or ask publicly in the comment section of this journal entry.
