Brand New FAQ--Yeah!
What are BJD?
BJD is an acronym that stands for 'ball-joint doll.' BJD are simply that, dolls with ball-joints. These give them many points of articulation, which allow for them to be posed to a greater degree than many other types of dolls. A majority of them are made by Asian-based companies (Chinese, Korean, Japanese), but there are a few companies in other places that are beginning to make them as well as many companies who affiliate with the Asian companies but are based in other countries.
These dolls are made of resin and strung together with elastic. They are highly customizable. Owners often repaint them, change their wigs and eyes, and even modify the original sculpt.
We have also made the decision to include Dollfie Dream dolls, which are similar though made of vinyl along with the vinyl Obitsu molds.
What are Dollfie, how are they different from BJD?
Dollfie are the 27cm Volks dolls that are articulated like action figures. They usually have rooted hair, as opposed to doll wigs. Obitsu 27cm figures are included with Dollfie for the purposes of this club.
The staff of this club has decided to include them as well, even if they are not really BJD. The spirit of customization and creativity between dollfie and BJD are the same and we wish to support it.
The main difference (other than the fact that most BJD are larger, but not all) is in the joints. BJD are made up of hollow pieces which are held together by elastic string. Dollfies snap together, and though some of their joints are similar to ball-joints so they can slide, they are not quite the same. Dollfies are made of vinyl.
(They're also quite a bit less expensive.)
How do I join the club?
This is listed clearly on the Club Information journal, but people still seem to have some problems figuring it out so I'm going to spell it out here too.
To join the club you need to do is add it to your deviantwatch. That's it. The mods will see that you have watched it and add you to the member list. You can send a note if you like, but it's unnecessary and just makes more stuff for the administration to sort through
[This said, if you would like to watch the club but do NOT want to be a member you have two options. Either send us a note explaining you only want to watch or just bookmark the club and check in on us from time to time . . . . ]
How do I know I've been added as a member to the club?
Your icon will appear at the end of the the giant Member List [this may be really difficult on slow Internet connections]. It is currently in order of join-date.
Generally, if you watch the club then you can consider yourself a member, even if we haven't got to updating the member list yet.
What is there to do now that I've joined the club?
You can read more about the current club activities at this journal: [link] .
I think you might have missed my gallery submission, can I send it again?
If you haven't seen your submission up in about a week, feel free to resubmit it. It's quite possibly that either DeviantART ate it or we just missed it. This does happen from time to time.
I have a complaint about one of the administrators/moderators, who do I talk to?
Please send a note to either the Admin, ~unpredictably or one of the Co-Admins ~some-art-bum and ~KoKian if you have a complaint that you need to discuss. These will be kept anonymous.
I have a question or complaint about something club related, who do I talk to?
All club-related questions or complaints can be sent by note to the club account, =bjd-club.
I have an idea or a suggestion for the club, who can I send it to?
We welcome ideas and suggestions from all of our members! You can send those by note to the club account, =bjd-club.
If you have any other questions that have not been addressed here see the following steps:
1.) Make sure it is not answered either in the Club Information or Club Activities journals.
2.) If it is note then send a note to the club account, =bjd-club, with your question. We will answer it as soon as we are able.

And I'm trying to do my part to help get things going. I'll take some pretty pictures to submit once my boys get back. One is out for face-up and the other should be back soon.

And just so you know, I left your comment in the messages so that the other mods could see it as well. It should be helpful.
